We all remember one of the first scenes of Audrey Hepburn's iconic movie Funny Face. The one where Maggie Prescott, the editor in chief of Quality magazine, has the revolutionary idea to choose pink as the most wanted color for the season. The famous "Think Pink" (video here). When I see this scene now I cannot help but think that the Devil wore Prada already a long time ago ... or in that case Christian Dior. And even her name sounds quite similar to Lauren Weisberger's devil, Miranda Priestly. So maybe she was not just inspired by our beloved Anna Wintour.
But back to Pink, just like in Funny Face it is this season's hot color, we've seen it in major shows such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, Miu Miu, Céline, Chanel, Dior, Carven or Rochas. And the major piece of course, as it's the winter season, is the Coat ! Whether it is blush, baby pink or even hot pink ... Pink it must be. Finally a bit of color for winter !
Personally I have started slowly with some touches of pink, like beanies, gloves, scarves or even jumpers, always in a soft baby pink color. But I might just get tempted by the coat now.
At the moment the best places to find some affordable ones are Zara, Topshop, Asos and even M & S ( yes yes you heard right ! ) but be quick as they get sold out in a flash !
